Dear Editors,

If Joe Lieberman loses his Senate bid to Ned Lamont in the Connecticut Democratic Primary on Tuesday, it won't be, as Robert Kagan argued (in "The Last Honest Man") yesterday, "because he didn't recant" his support for the Iraq War -- a neocon talking point that was subsequently parroted by Fred Barnes and Bill Kristol on Fox News Sunday.

No, if he loses it'll be because Lieberman was and is wrong, plain and simple. He was wrong to support the war in the first place, he is wrong in continuing to support a failed war policy, and he is wrong to disagree with an increasing majority of Americans who think the war in Iraq was a mistake.
